Kanthaswamy - Kanthaswamy Movie Review

Kanthaswamy is one of the most expected movie of the year 2009, directed by Susi Ganesan (Director of ever green movies Virumbugiren, Five Star and Thiruttu Payale).

V Creations' Kanthaswamy has 'Chiyaan' Vikram, Shriya Saran, Krishna, Prabhu, Vadivelu, Mukesh Tiwari and Ashish Vidhyarthy in the main roles. Mumaith Khan does an item number. Devi Sri Prasad takes cares of the music while Viveka has penned the lyrics. Cinematography is by Ekambaram.

Our rating of this film: 4/5 (OK)

Vikram:

Kanthaswamy is purely 'Chiyaan' Vikram's material. The entire movie rest in his shoulder and again he proves his acting. Vikram gives a fantastic performance, playing five different roles, including that of a lady. It remains a doubt if any actor other than Vikram could have done justice to this role.

Shriya:

Shriya Saran as Subbulakshmi, daughter of Ashish Vidhyarthy is at her best as far as looks are concerned. She enacts her part well in the song sequences, providing adequate glamour and sizzling with her dance moves, especially in 'Allegra' and 'Mambo Mamiya'. It's a delight to watch her romance Vikram in 'Excuse Me Mr. Kanthaswamy' and 'Meow Meow Poonai!' Tollywood veteran actor Krishna (father of Mahesh Babu) after appearing in more than 300 movies, makes a memorable screen presence in Tamil cinema with Kanthaswamy. As the CBI Joint Director, Krishna impresses.

Story Line:

It's a superhero kind of entity who delivers the financial aids as well sorts out other kind of troubling issues for these people. There you've Kanthaswamy (Vikram), a CBI officer who's on the heels of trapping each and every kingpin in metropolitan city with excess black money (Ashish Vidhyarthi and co). On the pars of working as a government servent, the civilian transfigures into ‘Kanthaswamy' during night times and becomes the savior of masses.

What else then? It's all as you predict: Hero Vs Baddies for the well-being of millions of innocents.
